Known state-wide as the Empire State, New York is one of the original thirteen colonies that formed the United States of America and is one of the most populated and influential states of all time. Home to the most celebrated city in the world that goes by the same name, the state also boasts the iconic Niagara Falls, the untamed Adirondacks, the Finger Lakes and their outstanding wineries and more attractions scattered across the rest of the land.

There are a number of districts in New York State to visit, no matter how times you hear “everything beyond New York City, is known as upstate”. The area surrounding the city, known as Metro New York, is a huge metropolitan district and offers a delightful selection of amusements such as Coney Island, Fire Island, The Palisades and Rye. The Catskills and Hudson Valley regions are largely rural, offering little in the way of city life, but plenty of mountainous terrain to explore and an overall unique holiday experience. The scenery reaches a spectacular peak in the Adirondacks district which takes its name from the dramatic mountain ranges that encompass most of the area.

North of the Adirondacks is the North Country, a gateway to neighbouring Quebec, sights include St Lawrence River and its Thousand Islands.
