America’s cosmopolitan capital, Washington D.C has long since shed its moniker of being boring and unsafe and today offers a city of history, culture and excitement. Boasting three branches of Government, Washington D.C is a city of great importance with iconic international influences.

Begin your capital journey along the National Mall, a two mile stretch of lush park that is bordered by many of the city’s proudest landmarks and informative Smithsonian museums, including the Capitol, the Washington Monument, the White House and the Lincoln Memorial. In the East End just north of the National Mall, is Washington D.C’s old Downtown quarter, home to buzzing bars, elegant eateries and swinging clubs, East End is considered the centre for tourism, while the West End, boasts the Golden Triangle, the Ellipse and La Fayette Park.

Just south of the National Mall is the waterfront, mostly overlooked, the area offers a wonderful traditional atmosphere with delicious fresh-fish restaurants, the Fish Wharf and the Nationals Park. Washington D.C’s most upbeat neighbourhoods and best boutique shops can be found in the North Central District of the city, while the west is home to the wealthy neighbours of Georgetown and Upper North West and the east offers the historic Capitol Hill neighbourhood, the library of Congress and Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens.
